ACADEMY OF ART UNIVERSITY AND KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY SIGN ON AS INAUGURAL MEMBERS

June 17, 2010. Beaverton, Oregon: e-on software, maker of the leading solutions for Digital Nature, announced today the formation of a new program aimed at promoting the use and instruction of Vue and e-on software products at higher education universities and computer graphics institutions.

The Authorized Training Center (ATC) program includes a number of specific elements tailored for higher education institutions that make it easier and much more affordable to incorporate Vue within a computer graphics curriculum.

"As Vue becomes more widely used throughout the professional computer graphics community, we have seen increasing demand to support the leading CG schools and universities to train the next generation of aspiring CG professionals," said Nicholas Phelps, president of e-on software. "We are extremely pleased to have the highly acclaimed institutions, Academy of Art University and Kansas State University, as inaugural members of this important new program."

"We are offering Vue classes and training as part of our CG curriculum beginning this fall 2010," said Jason Patnode, Maya Lead Instructor at the San Francisco, California based Academy of Art University. "A number of our students have already used Vue with great success in their CG environment projects and we intend to make Vue more widely available across the student community."

"Increasingly, the marriage of CAD Architecture with CG Digital Nature is becoming a mainstream requirement for presenting and showcasing designs," explained Will Yankey, Professor of Architecture at Kansas State University. "The new e-on ATC program is exactly what we were looking for as we would like to make Vue more pervasive for student projects within the College of Architecture."

Key ATC Program Benefits

The following represents some of the key benefits of the new ATC program:

  • Professional software licensing covering all workstations in a classroom location for a low flat fee of $2,000. New versions of Vue are available to ATCs as soon as they are released to the market.
  • Provides support materials instructors need to present e-on software. Training centers have an exclusive program page that provides product images, training material, demo videos, demo presentations and other marketing materials.
  • Direct access to e-on software product support through e-mail.
  • Access to a range of marketing materials supplied by e-on software for use inside and outside training facilities to promote awareness.

Accredited, higher education institutions are invited to apply for acceptance into the e-on ATC program. Further information and details along with the ATC program application can be found at: www.e-onsoftware.com/ATC

Posted: 19 Jun 2010 12:46 AM PDT

With E3 just passed, most people have video games in mind. One of the most compelling elements of games that is often overlooked is the music. Where would Mario be if he didn't have that catchy tune? Painting Wavy Hair

Posted: 19 Jun 2010 12:41 AM PDT

Painting realistic hair is a very difficult thing to do. Mastering this skill is a matter of possessing both theoretical and technical skills. Moreover, different kinds of hair require different levels of skill – painting straight hair is much easier than depicting curls or waves. When you're painting curls you have to think in 3D, and work out not just how the hair falls, but also how the curls will interact and how they'll be affected by the hairstyle.
Colour is another area that can cause problems. While the vast majority of painting subjects require a simple palette consisting of one midtone and some accompanying shades, hair's natural colour diversity requires simultaneous work with a few midtones.
