Posted: 06 Apr 2010 01:58 AM PDT Box Shot 3D is a virtual cover renderer based on ray tracing algorithms. What does this mean? Simply put, the box shots you create will look very realistic. This attractive display is often the deciding factor for purchasing products. Because of high rendering technology, Box Shot 3D's rendering is so life-like, customers may think they are seeing the actual product photo. The Most Important Features Of Box Shot 3DBox Shot 3D uses professional technology packed into an easy user interface. It allows you to create amazing web and print graphics with just a few clicks! The important features of Box Shot 3D are: RaytracingRaytracing allows creation of photorealistic images and shadows. Box Shot 3D calculates millions of light rays passing from the light source to the object. The result is a very realistic looking object. Raytracing is usually used for special effects in movies. Box Shot 3D allows you to use this technology for creating box shots! Realistic ShadowsThe use of raytracing leads to "realistic" shadows. Box Shot 3D calculates the amount of light for every pixel in your image. Box Shot 3D also calculates skylight (or atmospheric light) - light emitted by sky. This makes images look even more realistic. Supported shapesBox Shot 3D contains tons of different shapes that can be used for rendering boxes, DVD- and CD-cases, screenshots, books, stacks of books, brochures, paper bags, cans, bottles etc. Select the shape you need, insert your images and press "Render", it's that easy! Advanced MaterialsBox Shot 3D allows to load height and specular maps and create relief-effect on the flat sides of shapes. This gives endless possibilities for book covers, cards and other objects. See the examples of materials usage in the gallery. Supported Image FormatsBox Shot 3D can load JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and PSD files (both in RGB and CMYK). Transparency channel is loaded too and may be used in the number of shapes (like Image or Brochure). ReflectionsYou can fully control the box reflection, transparency and depth on the floor and adjust them with sliders to see result in realtime. More, you can adjust blur level for reflections. Transparent backgroundIf you want to use the rendered image in a complex project, you can easily output your image with transparent backgrounds (PNG or TIFF formats) for use in your favorite graphics editor. You may also select a solid background color as well. AntialiasingBox Shot 3D uses many tricks for fast and efficient antialiasing. You will never see rough or pixilated edges again. Everything will be smooth and very realistic. Quality controlThe quality of the rendered image can be adjusted. If you need a fast draft render for preview, set the "Quality" combo-box to the "Draft" value and rendering will finish faster. When you need full production quality, select "Production" or even "High End" values for the desired output. Easy to useYes. Box Shot 3D is a one of the simplest applications of its kind. It has easy "step-by-step" tabs that quickly guide you through the entire creation process. * Object instances were not imported from 3DS files * [Windows] Box Shot 3D didn't open projects from network paths * [Mac] There were some problems with file opening dialogs and folder navigation * [Mac] Rendering crashed with timer-related errors Not very much, but I am currently busy with lot of things both related to Box Shot 3D and not. As usual, please send here your requests or wishes, so I will know what you really need. Related links: boxshot3d.com

For more information check out: cmiVFX | Subscriptions_And_Pricing Nuke Tracking Training Video http://www.cmivfx.com/productpages/...uke_3D_Tracking Introduction 3D tracking really simplifies many compositing tasks, whether it's removing unwanted objects or adding in additional elements. Having to swap applications in order to obtain the necessary camera data has always been time consuming and making alterations difficult. Now, Nuke comes with its own camera tracker – so 3D tracking can be done exactly where you need it! Focus on Nuke's camera tracker and learn other relevant tasks for a good track, i.e. grain/noise, lens distortion and 2d tracking. After analyzing the point cloud and solving the camera movement, learn how to set-up some geometry and recreate the scene with 3D and UV projections, then animate a new camera movement which will turn that into a stereoscopic set-up and end up with a nice (red & blue) anaglyph for a stereoscopic workflow alternative. Preparing the Footage In order to get the most out of the trackers in Nuke it is important to remove any distractions. Grain and noise can offset the tracker. When it comes to 3D tracking the rolling shutter is an issue as well. 2D Tracking How does Nuke's 2D tracker work and when would one use it? 2d trackers can be helpful to keep Roto shapes in position. It is even possible to patch areas by connecting the tracker to a corner pin node. Lens Distortion How do we reduce the amount of lens distortion in our footage? A simple thing when using a lens grid but there are also other ways like analyzing lines in the sequence or using the lens distortion estimation in Nukes camera tracker. 3D Camera Tracking Even though a compositing app, Nuke provides its own camera tracker! So how do we solve a scene? What can our point cloud tell us? And how do we produce results that are suitable for our cause. Geometric Restoration Now that the camera movement is solved we will use our tracking points to place some simple geometry to the scene. We will move them to the correct position in 3D space and check if everything lines up with our original shot. Projections Using the geometry just created we will use our tracking camera to project the footage onto our geometry. This gives us the possibility to stabilize the shot and create a fairly smooth camera movement even though we started out with a very shaky shot. Detailing in 3D In order to make our projected texture stick to our geometry we will switch to UV projections. That also gives us the option to displace the geometry. That way we can create a facade that has a contour, rather than just a flat card. Find Best Frame (FBF) Since textures can sometimes not be created from just one frame it is necessary to stitch a couple of frames together. Rendering them out as UV's gives us the possibility to match, merge and paint them. Stereoscopic The scene now only consists of textured geometry. That gives us the freedom to animate a new camera movement. This camera can be paired to create stereoscopic images. If you have red and blue glasses, you can view the set-up as an anaglyph. Conclusion: Get the most out of Nuke's camera tracker, learn how to deal with lens distortion, interpret the point cloud, set-up geometry accordingly and texture it. You will be able to exploit your 3d set-up to either create a smooth camera movement or create your own camera animation and even turn your footage into a stereoscopic shot. Posted: 06 Apr 2010 12:11 AM PDT Autodesk SketchBook® Pro for iPad is a professional-grade paint and drawing application. Using the same paint engine as its desktop counterpart, SketchBook Pro delivers a complete set of sketching & painting tools through a streamlined and intuitive user interface designed exclusively for the iPad experience. Customer ReviewsKiller AppSketchBook on the iPad is absolutely spectacular. I first got attracted to iPhone painting when I saw brushes in the iPad keynote. I got Bruses for the iPhone, but quickly switched to SketchBook Mobile because their interface was much better to actually do work in, and their pencil tool was indespensible (iPhone Brushes has nothing equivalent). AH-MAY-ZINGThis program is seriously insane. Anyone complaining about the price needs to pull their head from their nether regions and look at what they are getting for EIGHT. FREAKING. DOLLARS. Are you kidding me? A program with this full of feature set that works this well for $8? The swipe to undo and ability to export PSDs alone is worth the $. 10 years ago you'd have paid like $200+ for an app like this. Cool appBetter and cheaper than brushes Related links:
